What's On: Aus Day in Newcastle

The City of Newcastle Australia Day celebrations 2016 on Tuesday 26 Jan will be hosted on the waterfront at Honeysuckle Precinct. Enjoy a day of great activities, dancers, drum workshops, street performers and a number of celebrations tailored to all ages.
Entertainment will run all day across four fantastic stages, including live music from bands such as DJ Migz and The Buzzard Mix, and singer-songwriter, Amy Vee. Visitors will also enjoy circus workshops and face painting at Worth Place Park, market stalls, guided historic tours of Fort Scratchley and roving bands along the whole precinct.
Highlights of the day include:
7am: Harbour Swim at Newcastle Harbour
8am: Cross Harbour Swim at Newcastle Harbour
9am: Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony at Concert Hall – Newcastle City Hall
10am: Circus workshops and face painting
10:30am: Ducks 4 Dollars at Queens Wharf
11am-1pm: Yacht Races at Newcastle Harbour
1-5pm: Firing of the guns at Fort Scratchley
